What really matters is not aimless discontent with existing limitations but directive effort toward the established ideal. As long as the person is turned toward the sun and is trying to walk into the light, the shadows that encircle him cannot be serious handicaps to his emancipation. In the same way, the aspirant need not worry too much about his failings, as long as his heart is firmly set upon uniting with his spiritual ideal. His failings will all have vanished into nothingness when his pilgrimage ends.
